Bis 1943 stand das Land unter französischem Mandat, und am 22.11.1943 erhielt der Libanon seine Unabhängigkeit. Aus diesem Grund können die Menschen bis heute neben ihrer Muttersprache Arabisch auch Französisch sprechen, und überall sieht man Schilder in französischer Sprache.

Lebanon, is a small country (10,452 km2) in the middle east located by the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon is full of history and culture. Until 1943, it was under the French Mandate and on 22.11.1943, Lebanon gained its independence. This is why until today, people can speak French along with their mother tongue Arabic and you would see signs everywhere also in French.
